You are cordially invited to the premiere screening of Rachel Chapman Murphy’s short film debut An American in Edinburgh at the Cameo Picturehouse on 30th November 2023, alongside other short films from the Screen Progression Programme 2023.
If you feel like it, dress to impress. The student film makers have decided to treat it as a Hollywood Premiere and are donning their glad rags.
We will be in the Cameo bar from 6pm.

Screen Education Edinburgh warmly invites you to join us on the 30th of November at the Cameo for a screening of our Screen Progression Programme learners’ amazing films!
For almost a year, learners on the Screen Progression Programme have been developing valuable skills and gaining practical experience in all aspects of filmmaking, culminating in each learner getting the chance to write, direct and edit their very own short film. Funded by Screen Scotland & the Children, Education & Justice Department, City of Edinburgh Council, the learners worked towards an SQA National Progression Award (NPA) in Film & Media Level 6.
Prior to this course, some had never made a film before; we are so proud of their incredible journeys, and we would love to celebrate them with you.
Guests are kindly asked to meet at the Cameo foyer (Lochrin Place 6-10, Edinburgh EH3 9QY) by 6.50pm. Following an introductory speech, the screening will commence. The event will be BSL-interpreted, and all films will be captioned. We would love for you to join us after the screening at the Cameo bar for networking and to meet our filmmakers!
